As the title suggests I'm slightly disappointed. What I'm slightly disappointed about is the lack of space exploration games. And the ones that do exist are lacking in key areas. I know some may say that Star Trek Online is a space exploration game, but sadly there is a real lack of any actual exploration that goes on there. Freelancer is considered space exploration, but there is no planetary component. Same with X3. Evochron: Mercenary comes close with the ability to fly close to a planet's surface, but no ability to get out and actually explore. Same with Spore.
What I would like to see is a space exploration game where you can discover new star systems, new planets and land on these planets, get out and walk around. I don't mind if the game has combat, truth be told the most of the gamers these days won't play a game if you can't shoot something in it. But for me I want actual exploration. I would love to have a starship, but be able to actually get out and walk around, or maybe even use some sort of ground vehicle. Full planetary exploration would be nice, but sectional exploration could work too. You know, a large square section of land fenced off by an invisible wall.
